风向由低惯量风向标检测。风向标的轴线在滚珠轴承中运行，并在内端带有直径磁化磁铁。
轴的角度位置由磁性角度传感器（TMR = 隧道磁阻）进行非接触式固定，该传感器提供两个正弦和余弦相关电压作为输出信号。
连接的微控制器根据此电压计算1024扇区（0.35°/扇区）的风向。与扇区1相关的是风向0°-35°，扇区1024对应于风向359.65°-360°。
